Gonzaga Basketball’s season begins in late November and runs through early March. This season marks Coach Steve Turner’s 26th on Eye Street -- serving five years as an assistant and 21 as head coach. During Coach Turner’s tenure, the program has proved itself to be a national powerhouse, winning four WCAC championships, two DCSAA Championships, and four Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament championships. Coach Turner has also earned many coaching accolades including Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year, National Gatorade Coach of the Year, and more.
Last year’s team won the DC Classic Championship for the third year in a row, won the King Cotton Championship, and finished with a 28-6 record to earn the #23 national ranking by Max Preps. Coach Turner notched his 450th win and seniors Nykolas Lewis (1st Team), Derek Dixon (2nd Team), and Christian Gurdak (Honorable Mention) all earned All-Met recognition. Will Harper ‘25 and Alex Touomou ‘25 return for the Eagles as well.
The team looks forward to competitions across the country, with games planned throughout the DMV, Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Massachusetts this year. Make sure to check back on this page throughout the season for schedules, results, highlights, and more. Go Gonzaga!
