Wrestling Starts Strong
Last weekend the Wrestling Eagles traveled to Magruder High School to compete in the Mad Mats Invitational Tournament. The team walked away with four individual medalists, anchored by Senior Captain Matt Van Sice’s 175lbs Title, along with Junior Bo Sulc’s Runner-Up finish at 190lbs. Captains Thomas Keefe '25 and Haitham Karim '25 each took 3rd Place finishes at 157lbs and 165lbs, respectively. We had a good showing from our youngest competitors as well, three of whom finished just outside of the top 5, each taking sixth place in their weight classes: Alistair Maul '28 (106lbs), Joseph McPherson '28 (120lbs) and Mac Keogh '28 (126lbs).
On Tuesday, December 10 Gonzaga defeated Ireton (72-12), but fell to Georgetown Prep (34-42) and John Paul the Great (36-39).
