18 Eagles Named to Spring All-Met Teams, Looney '25 Named Player of the Year

Eighteen student-athletes were named to Washington Post All-Met teams for their outstanding play this spring. Here is the list of honorees: 
 
Baseball
Honorable Mention: Jack Feehery '24

Crew
1st Team: Kyle McHugh '24
📰: "Sitting in the seven-seat of the Eagles’ top varsity eight boat, McHugh helped the team collect another gold medal in thrilling fashion at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Rowing Association championships."

Best Boat: Second V8
Honorable Mention: Nathaniel Abrials '24, Andres Krizan-Luque '25, Brendan Stroh '24
 
Golf
Player of the year: Carson Looney '25
📰: "As the Eagles swept all three of their postseason tournaments, Looney earned low medalist honors twice, with a 5-under-par 66 at the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship and a 6-under-par 66 in the D.C. State Athletic Association championship. Committed to play for Indiana, the WCAC co-player of the year finished the regular season with a spotless head-to-head record and averaged 35.18 strokes per nine holes."

1st Team: Jack Hartman '24 
📰: "The Bucknell commit was a key presence in the Eagles’ run of championships, averaging 35 strokes per nine-hole match in the regular season and finishing in the top five at the WCAC, Metro and 
DCSAA championships."

1st Team: Johnny Gardiner '24
📰: "The Maryland commit helped Gonzaga to a comeback victory in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship game as the Eagles claimed their first title since 2019."

Honorable Mention: Gaetano Cicotello '25

Tennis
1st team: Jack Sherner '24
📰: "Sherner has long been among the best players in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, but this year he soared above many of his peers. He notched wins at No. 1 singles and doubles in the WCAC finals, then went on to the D.C. state tournament, where a tense, extended battle with Cyrus Zia of St. Albans yielded a silver medal."
