Lacrosse Beats Ireton and PVI

Gonzaga Lacrosse suffered some close losses early in the season to top teams in the nation and in the area, but is undefeated in WCAC play after notching strong wins this week over Bishop Ireton and Paul VI. The team is currently 6-5 overall, and 3-0 in the WCAC.

In the game against Paul VI on Tuesday, April 8 on Buchanan Field -- our first conference test on Eye Street this year -- we secured an important victory and moved into sole possession of first place as the only remaining undefeated team in WCAC play. The game was a total team effort with six different Eagles scoring and strong play on faceoffs and in goal. After an early goal from PVI, the Eagles reeled off eight unanswered goals to take an 8-1 lead midway through the 3rd quarter en route to the 9-6 win.
