Basketball Wins Big at Hoophall Classic, 3 WCAC Matchups Up Next
Varsity Basketball improved to 16-2 after earning their fifth WCAC win of the season at O'Connell on Friday, January 17 and a big national win over Roosevelt High School (CA) on Monday, January 20 at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, MA.

Monday's matchup against Roosevelt -- played live on ESPNU -- was a chance to take down the then #1 ranked team in the nation, according to Max Preps. The Eagles did not disappoint, using another strong second half to come away with a dominant 73-55 win. Christian Gurdak '25 was named MVP of the game. You can watch the highlights here:
The Eagles, currently ranked #3 in the Max Preps national rankings and #10 in the ESPN national rankings, will face three WCAC rivals over the next five days -- St. John's tonight on the road, DeMatha on Sunday at home, and Paul VI on Tuesday at home.
