Basketball Opens Season vs Florida Powerhouses

Varsity Basketball enters the 2024-2025 season with high expectations as the Eagles return all five starters. The starting five recently made their college choices official during national early signing day for basketball: Nykolas Lewis '25 (Xavier University), Derek Dixon '25 (University of North Carolina), Christian Gurdak '25 (Virginia Tech University), Will Harper ‘25 (University of Richmond) and Alex Touomou ‘25 (Harvard College).

Last year’s team finished with a 28-6 record to earn the #23 national ranking and were WCAC finalists. Head Coach Steve Turner, who completed his 20th year and notched his 450th win last season, leads the program once again. Gonzaga enters the season ranked #2 in the nation by Max Preps. This weekend, the team is in Miami, Florida to take on #4 Oak Ridge on Friday at 5:45pm and #3 Columbus on Saturday at 2:45pm in a pair of big-time showdowns.
