V2 Hockey Wins 4th Straight MAPHL A Title

Gonzaga Hockey's Varsity 2 squad has enjoyed a tradition of great success under the leadership of head coach Bryan King who has led the program over the last seven years. On Saturday, February 22 at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, MD, the Eagles defeated Good Counsel in overtime, 6-5 to win their fourth straight MAPHL A championship.

The Eagles showed tremendous grit as they trailed 2-0 and 5-2, before scoring the final three goals of regulation including sophomore Andrew Talay's equalizing goal to force overtime. A few minutes into the extra period, Logan Dougal '27 sent the Eagles into a frenzy with his second goal of the game and the game winner.

Other goal scorers included Jacob Webb '26, Paul Christou '26, and Olof Hunnius '27, while Dev Saluja '25 and Spencer Schmid '27 each had an assist apiece. Webb and Hunnius also notched assists in the win.
