On Sunday May 5th, the the Gonzaga Crew team won the team points trophy at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Rowing Association Championships for the 2nd year in a row.  Gonzaga crews earned gold medals in the 1st, 2nd, and Junior Varsity 8 oared shells, a Silver medal in the Freshman 8, and a Bronze Medal in the Novice 8 category.  Gonzaga's Four oared shells earned a silver medal in the 2nd Varsity and a bronze medal in the 3rd four oared shell.

"The across-the-board top finishes of the crews at this year's WMIRAs reflect the depth and intensity of the boys training," says Head Coach Tom Daley. The Washington Post wrote, "Gonzaga repeated as the WMIRA boys’ champion. The Eagles came into the top varsity eight boat race seeded second to St. Albans after falling to the Bulldogs at the Foley Cup, but they held off a late surge Sunday to get their revenge."

Eight Gonzaga Crews will travel to Philadelphia next weekend to compete in the Stotesbury Cup Regatta.
