Gonzaga Holds Its First Grandparents Day
On Sunday, September 23, Gonzaga held its first Grandparents Day celebration, which included a beautiful morning Mass and brunch on campus. Hundreds of Gonzaga students and their grandparents, as well as Gonzaga alumni and their grandchildren, attended the event.
Gonzaga President Father Stephen Planning, SJ, celebrated Mass in St. Aloysius Church. Afterwards, two grandparents spoke briefly at the brunch: Judge Bill Rowan ’57, whose grandson Tommy is a member of the Class of 2022, and Carole Napolitano, who is the proud grandmother of senior Piers and freshman Graham. Students had the opportunity to take their grandparents on campus tours, which many did despite the rain.
“It was a wonderful chance for our students to share Gonzaga with these very special people in their lives, their grandparents,” says David Dugan, Gonzaga’s Vice President for Alumni and Advancement. “We plan to turn this into an annual event!”
We hope you enjoy these great photos from the day:
