Student Trip to Italy—Enjoy the Photos!

In June, 11 rising sophomores spent ten days in Italy, delving deep into ancient Roman culture and history as part of a trip organized by the Social Studies and Modern and Classical Languages Departments.

The students' journey took them from the Amalfi coast, where they saw the breathtaking island of Capri and stayed in the sleepy town of Sorrento, to the renaissance beauty of Florence, and finally to the splendors of Rome and the Vatican City. In addition to major archaeological sites like the Colosseum and the ruined city of Pompeii, the students had a firsthand encounter with our school's Jesuit heritage, visiting the Gesu, the first Jesuit Church, and the Church of St. Ignatius in Rome. The students climbed high atop Mt. Tiberio to visit the famed Villa Jovis, took a chairlift to the highest point of Capri, and experienced Catholic Liturgy in Italian. Of course, they also feasted on a variety of delicious Italian foods!

We hope you enjoy these great pictures from the trip!
