Jubilarian Reunion for the Class of 1975

The Class of 1975 returned to Eye Street last weekend for their Jubilarian Reunion, and were warmly welcomed by their classmate, Gonzaga President Fr. Joseph Lingan, S.J. On Friday night, the group enjoyed a campus tour and cocktail hour, followed by dinner in the Upper Commons. On Saturday, they were hosted by Jimmy O'Brien '75 and his wife Kay for a reception at their Chevy Chase home. On Sunday morning, they celebrated Mass in Our Lady’s Chapel, followed by a continental breakfast, and then they lined up for the time-honored Jubilarian tradition, leading the procession of graduates, faculty, and honored guests into St. Aloysius Church.

Jubilarian Class of 1975 (2025)

The Class of 1975 had another reason to be proud on Sunday as their classmate, Mr. Tom Delaney, delivered the Kohlmann Address to the Class of 2025, as his father John Delaney ’50 did in 1985. Delaney gave the graduates sound advice: “Being a Man for Others – a true Man for Others – requires more than repeating a motto," he said. “It is a call for each of us to be conscious of what is happening in the world around us, and to be prepared to respond to injustice when we see it.” You can watch the full speech below:

With appreciation for the Jubilarian Class of 1975 and particularly Fr. Lingan, who arrived as President on Eye Street when they arrived as freshmen in 2021, and in recognition of that bond, the Class of 2025 chose to designate their class gift to the Class of 1975 Endowed Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance to families who would not otherwise be able to afford to send their sons to Gonzaga.

We hope you enjoy the photos of the weekend festivities. Congratulations, Class of 1975!
