Model UN Team Earns Kudos at Ivy League Conference

The Model UN team traveled to Philadelphia from January 23-26 for the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference, hosted by students from the University of Pennsylvania. Twenty Gonzaga students competed in ten different committee sessions, totaling over 20 hours of competition and debate. Nearly 2,000 students competed at the conference; nine Eagles received awards for their performance:

Best Delegate Award (1st Place Award): Max Dunn ’25 and Michael Bicksel ’25
Outstanding Delegate Award (2nd Place Award): Michael Salemme ’25 and Matthew Salemme ’26
Outstanding Delegate Award (2nd Place Award): Evan Delcher ’26 and Tom Brady ’25
Honorable Mention Award (3rd Place Award): James Prater ’25
Verbal Commendation (4th Place Award): William Brewer ’27 and Brendan Kent ’27

Social Studies teacher and club moderator Mr. Tim O’Shaughnessy was pleased with the results and proud of all of Gonzaga’s student representatives.
