Water Polo Beats Prep, 3 Games in Philly Up Next

Varsity water polo was excited to play Georgetown Prep for the first time in program history on Wednesday, September 4. The Eagles travelled to face the Little Hoyas in Bethesda, MD and team captain Gavin Fore '25 led the team to a 21-8 victory that featured the debut of Joan Prats '27 in goal, four assists from Joe Mills '26, and a double hat-trick from Jake Hascall '26.

"We graduated ten seniors last year and are only returning four, so it's been exciting to see so many of our younger players stepping up and finding their niche," said head coach Dominick Pugliese '08. "We are 1-1 going into this weekend's tournament against against some strong Pennsylvania teams, so we're looking forward to continuing to build our game and team identity."

Coach Pugliese also notes the great job Georgetown Prep's captain Thomas Singleton '27 has done as he has been working hard to build Prep's team, and he is hopeful that last week's game was a great start to renewing the traditional rivalry between our schools in the pool going forward. This year's senior night will be a rematch with Little Hoyas at our home site (Takoma Aquatic Center) on Thursday, October 24 at 4pm.
