Crew Sweeps St. Andrews Invitational, Retains Foley Cup
On Saturday, April 15th, Crew's top three boats finished in 1st place at St. Andrew's in Middletown, DE. The 1st three races were able to go off before lightning and thunder canceled the rest of the races.
In an exciting finish, Gonzaga's 1st Varsity Boat was able to narrowly beat out Central Catholic (PA) by 1.1 seconds. The V8 Eagles also finished ahead of St. Alban's to win the Annual Foley Cup.
"The racing this weekend at St. Andrews's was incredibly competitive, a clear indication of just how competitive this season will be," said head Crew Coach Tom Daley. "We are proud of our boys and their accomplishments, and we look forward to racing these teams again, while never underestimating their speed and skill."
