Soccer Advances in DCSAA Playoffs
The Varsity Soccer team earned its first win, 2-0, in the DCSAA playoffs against School without Walls on November 9 on Buchanan Field. Senior captain Aidan Rafferty assisted on both goals while Junior midfielder Kevin Coffey delivered them into the back of the net.
The following night, in Wednesday night's DCSAA Quarterfinal, the Eagles travelled to Wilson High School in NW Washington. In the first ten minutes Aidan Rafferty was fouled in the box and granted a penalty kick which Senior Brenden Pauline slotted in:
Later in the first half, Junior Axel Chicas tallied a goal off a pass from Junior midfielder Leo Marques da Costa. Late in the second half, Senior Campbell McVie added a goal of his own in a melee in front of the Wilson net to put the game out of reach.
The Eagles are next in action today, November 12 at St. Albans in DCSAA semifinal action at 2:45pm.
