Spring Break Trips 2025 - Enjoy the Photos!
Over spring break this year, more than 250 students took part in eleven different trips, which were either service, academic, or athletic in nature and included a service immersion experience in Florida, walking the Camino Ignaciano in Spain, and competing in such places as Northern Italy and Southern California. Below is a photo album with some highlights, as well as a short description of each trip. Welcome back, Eagles!
Campus Ministry Service Immersion - Apopka, Florida
The group worked with the Hope CommUnity Center, which serves immigrants in Central Florida. Students lived with immigrant families in homestays and worked on farms and in nurseries.
El Camino Class - Spain
The trip was the culmination of an independent tutorial that the students have been taking this semester dedicated to the Camino Ignaciano, an ancient pilgrimage route. The group hiked the last 100 kilometers of the Camino and continued to experience growth in their Ignatian spirituality.
Global Exchange Program - Spain, Italy, Ireland
Students were eager to visit their global exchange partners who had traveled to Gonzaga during the fall semester. Students from abroad had stayed in students' homes while taking classes on Eye Street and exploring Washington, DC. This spring, it was Gonzaga's turn to visit their new friends in Barcelona and Badajoz, Spain, Milan, Italy, and Dublin, Ireland. The Jesuit host schools and families provided gracious hospitality, as well as sightseeing and cultural opportunities.
Baseball - Virginia Beach, VA
The baseball Eagles traveled to Virginia Beach, Virginia to face Catholic High School and Cox High School. The Eagles went 1-1 on the trip, before returning home to defeat St. Albans and McNamara and drop a close one at Paul VI over the break. Crew - Oakridge, Tennessee
Crew had its annual spring break training trip to Oakridge, Tennessee, where they trained and scrimmaged against St. Alban's and McCallie Prep (Chattanooga, TN). You can follow Gonzaga Rowing on Instagram here, and find the entire schedule here.
Lacrosse - La Jolla, California
Lacrosse traveled to La Jolla, California for games against La Costa Canyon and Torrey Pines. The Eagles won both games before returning home to fall in a heartbreaker at Bullis over the break. You can follow Gonzaga Lacrosse on Instagram here, and find the full schedule here.
Rugby - Verona and Parma, Italy
Rugby took their annual international tour to Italy to face some of the best high school competition outside of the US. The Eagles fell in both games, but gained great experience as they look to defend their national title this Spring. You can follow Gonzaga Rugby on Instagram here, and find the full schedule here.
Track & Field - Williamsburg, VA
Track & Field traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia to compete in both the Christopher Newport University Captain's Classic and the New Kent Track & Field Invitational. The Eagles finished in 5th place at New Kent winning three individual medals and took home four individual medals at CNU.
