Gonzaga Lunch Program

Gonzaga's cafeteria dining program offers a wide variety of daily lunch options for students, on an all-you-can-eat basis, all for a very reasonable price.  SAGE Dining Services -- our food service provider -- prepares meals that include students' favorites, as well as a wide variety of specials and signature items, including well-balanced, nutrient-dense choices. Below is more information and some frequently asked questions about our lunch program.

List of 6 items.

  • How much does the lunch program cost?

The cost to each family is $1,360 per student per year -- or approximately $7.50 per day for all-you-can-eat with a wide variety of menu options available.
  • Is financial assistance offered?

Yes.  Families receiving tuition assistance will receive a discount so that they pay the same pro-rated portion of the meal program that they pay in tuition.  So, for example, if a family receives a 25% reduction in tuition after financial aid, that family would also pay 75% of the cost of the meal program.  In this way, the exact cost of the meal program will vary, and mirror the tuition assistance awarded to deserving students.
  • How does billing work?

Lunch program charges appear on a family's Tuition Management account (the same account used to pay tuition).

The lunch program costs are billed automatically, according to the payment schedule a family chooses for tuition. Therefore, families who use a single payment tuition plan will be charged once; families on the two-payment plan will be charged over two installments; and families on the 10-month plan will have the cost spread out over 10 payments.
  • Are breakfast and after-school options available?

Yes, breakfast is available in the cafeteria, as are a variety of after-school options.  As not all students avail themselves of before or after-school meals, these are not part of the lunch plan.  Instead, during before and after school hours, the cafeteria will operate on a retail basis, with food being available for purchase on-site.
  • What if my son has a food allergy?

SAGE Dining Services is extremely diligent when it comes to food safety. Their registered dieticians work to ensure those with allergies/restrictive diets are able to safely enjoy a meal from our cafeteria. Daily menus are posted in the cafeteria and online, which can be accessed on the parent portal by clicking on the SAGE icon on the parent resource board. The parent portal menus include a list of all ingredients and nutritional information for each menu item.
  • Can I opt out of the lunch plan?

The lunch plan is part of our program and students are
automatically enrolled in the plan. Exceptions will be made in the case of dietary restrictions or other circumstances under which the student brings his own lunch. Students who are exempted from participation in the meal plan may not use the meal plan. Students who use the meal plan without paying are subject to disciplinary measures, and their families will be required to pay the full required fee.

Please contact the Gonzaga Business Office at businessoffice@gonzaga.org for information about opting out.
